Shelton Nasdaq-100 Index Fund Named 2017 Lipper Fund Award Winner

April 6, 2017

Fund Recognized As Best Fund Over Three, Five And Ten Years In The Large Cap Growth Category.

Shelton Capital Management, a multi-strategy asset manager, announced that its Nasdaq-100 Index Fund (Ticker: NASDX) received the 2017 Lipper Fund Award for Best Fund in the Large Cap Growth Fund category for the second consecutive year. The Fund is available on major brokerage platforms including Charles Schwab, TD Ameritrade, and Fidelity.

The award is based on the fund’s consistently strong risk-adjusted performance for the three-, five- and ten-year periods ending November 30, 2016. The Fund’s peer group for each of these years consisted of 726 Large Cap Growth Funds.

“It is a great honor to have our fund recognized through these prestigious awards,” said Shelton Capital Managing Director Dennis Clark. “The Lipper awards honor funds that have provided a consistent and impressive record of return for shareholders. The Nasdaq-100 Index Fund is the only fund this year to have been recognized for top performance in three-, five- and ten-year time periods in its category, delivering strong performance with low fees for long-term investors.”

The Fund, which seeks to replicate the performance of the largest non-financial companies as measured by the Nasdaq-100 Index®, can be a popular offering in 401(k) platforms, and is likely appealing to younger investors because names such as Facebook, Amazon and Netflix are familiar to them and they believe these companies represent the future economy.

“The Millennial movement is coming and it’s beginning to occupy Wall Street,” said Clark. “Unlike industry-specific segments, the Nasdaq-100 Index Fund includes a diversified variety of industries, providing investors with an array of investment options that are in synch with the Millennial lifestyle.”
