June 23, 2016
Shelton Capital Management, a multi-strategy investment manager which seeks to deliver attractive risk-adjusted performance alongside authentic client service, is pleased to announce valuable upcoming additions to the Shelton Capital Management investment team. Acuity Capital Management, which is based in Greenwich, CT and focuses on tactical credit investing, and the Rivington team, which is based in New York City, NY and concentrates on international equity investments, will join the portfolio team at Shelton Capital Management. The teams from Acuity and Rivington bring proven expertise, disciplined risk management and institutional caliber experience to the multiple investment strategies offered at Shelton Capital Management. Further, the teams will establish an East Coast footprint in Greenwich, CT, a final step in Shelton Capital Management’s national growth expansion.
Shelton Capital Management will be adopting several Acuity and Rivington mutual funds and separate account strategies from WHV Investments in a friendly transaction. The funds and separate account strategies will be rebranded under the Shelton Capital Management name with new symbols.
“With the strength of Acuity and Rivington’s management teams and performance to date, we are thrilled to add their offerings to our lineup, which has a singular focus of delivering attractive risk-adjusted performance to our clients,” said Steve Rogers, CEO of Shelton Capital Management. “Today’s marketplace is hungry for risk management and income solutions. These teams bring a rare combination of academic prowess and market savvy to our asset management team.”
Acuity Capital partners Howard Needle, David Harris and John Harnisch have extensive backgrounds analyzing all aspects of organizations’ balance sheets and income statements, constructing portfolios comprised of multiple and varied credits, convertible securities, fixed income and equity derivatives, and investing from both the long and short side. Needle and Harris have worked together continuously since 1995, having managed substantial trading operations at Bankers Trust and Banc of America Securities, and as founding partners, have managed Acuity since 2003.
“The combination of Acuity and Shelton Capital Management’s investment, administrative and distributive teams will accelerate the growth in our product lines. Most importantly, we will continue to deliver outstanding client service and investment advice to a special group of institutions and advisors who are seeking independent management for their clients’ fixed income needs, especially in today’s low interest rate world,” said Howard Needle.
The Rivington team, spearheaded by Matthias Knerr, Chris LaJaunie and Andrew Manton, has over a decade of experience working together most recently at WHV Investments, Victory Capital and Deutsche Asset Management. Team members have also helped manage portfolios at Oaktree Capital and Morgan Stanley. Rivington constructs portfolios of high conviction equity investment ideas based upon rigorous bottom-up, fundamental stock selection using a proprietary life cycle-based process.
“Our team strongly believes that joining Shelton Capital Management will provide Rivington with the necessary resources and services which allows us to continue providing the highest level of advisory services to our clients,” said Matthias Knerr.
The expected adoptions and mergers are anticipated to be completed in the third quarter of this year. For additional information, please contact Shelton Capital Management at (800) 955-9938 or visit our website at http://sheltoncap.com.
